It may seem like you're trying and trying to change things in your life but nothing's changing, nothing's moving. I am here to tell you my dear reader, that even if you don't see results right now, you are effecting change in your life.
Each small change you make will, over time, have a big impact.
If you eat at a fast food restaurant one time it's not really a big deal. But if you each fast food every day, you will gain weight. If you study a new language one time, you will not speak a new language. But if you study every day for a set time--even five minutes a day--you will learn to speak that new language. Same with exercise of course. If you exercise only one time, even for five hours, it will not have the same impact as exercising every day for 15 or 20 minutes.
The small changes you make in your life do have an impact even if you don't see it right away. So stay strong, be patient, and keep on making those little tweaks so that you are loving and living happier and healthier.
You really can do this!
When I was young I heard someone say, "If you're bored, it's because you are boring."
Wow, did that ever have an impact on me. I decided right then and there that I would never be bored again. That decision has served me well. The more time I have on this blue planet, the more wonder I see.
How will you decide to be in your life?
Thought this was a great video.
What was amazing to me was that the guy in last place was probably so happy to even be in the race! He had certainly worked hard to get there, didn't he? And he was the first one to ever win a gold for this sport for his country. So maybe it wasn't even in his thinking that he was in the running at all. Maybe he just loved the sport and working hard was enough. But life had a different plan!
In a way this video reminds me of the story of the tortoise and the hare. The hare was so confident that he was going to win the race, that he took a nap and slept right through it. The tortoise kept putting one foot in front of the other, in front of the other, in front of the other... and won!
So maybe we don't have to go into everything with the idea that we have to win first place. Maybe we can just do the work, enjoy the journey, finish what we start, and watch for the miraculous openings along the way that are doorways to propel us forward. What surprise gifts are opening up in your life? If you look for them, you'll see them. And then, seize the moment; go for it. Enjoy the journey, and stay awake too. Because you never know when the moment will open up for you, but know this: Life will open up for you. It might not look this dramatic, but for your heart and soul, it may be even more profound than a gold medal. Be brave enough to shine no matter where you are in life.
