Everyone has negative or unwanted thoughts that come to mind. The thing is, you don't have to let your thoughts run away with you!
You get to be in control of your own thoughts. You can invite and allow thoughts that serve you, that inspire you, that ignite the sparks of joy, that motivate you to move forward or to build your dreams. And you can reject or block the negative thoughts or "voices" (you know what I mean, like when you hear the voice of some bully who put you down going into re-play mode in your mind).
One technique you can uses is to relate to these thoughts the same way you might if it was a sales call coming in on your cell phone. You can see the caller ID and you don't have to waste your time on it. Just don't answer.
Another technique is to visualize something like what The Good Witch of the North said to the Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz. "You have no power here. Be gone!"
Just say it over and over.
It's a good idea to have a few positive thoughts or visualizations to fill in the place of the thought you're shooing away. How about picturing (or actually eating!) your favorite fruit? How about remembering that beautiful note that your dear friend wrote you in junior high, or last week? Or the smile of someone who loves you. Or... you fill in the blank.

Mindset/Thoughts: You drive your thoughts (don't let them run away with you) like a horse and rider, you steer to get back on track to where you want to be.
Flood out the negative thoughts with positive.
What's the best tool for that?
GRATITUDE: Do not underestimate the power of gratitude! Really!
Breathe! It will cleanse, calm, center and even fuel enthusiasm.
Smile! There is even therapy to help people using smiling. Be generous with your smile.
Be Kind! With yourself and with others. "Do not do to others what is hateful to you"
Use your speech for healing and building.
NO GOSSIP - this is a biggie, it doesn't just hurt the subject, it also hurts the speaker and the listener.
You can do this.

I am not talking about the songs that make you cry or the ones that make you moody or sad. I am talking about the songs that lift your spirits. They can be gentle or fast, just sing. Do you need to know that science backs this up? (I'm told that the positive effects of music on the immune system can last for hours or even days!) Would you like to hear that there are those who believe that the Heavenly realms are made up of music. Does any of that matter to you right now?
Sing or hum, make some music with your voice. Move some, bang on the table. Repeat.
Don't take my word for it.
Do your own experiment. Chart the results if you want to.
At least give it a try.
